1924
Williams & Wendt
Major Art Williams arrived in British Guiana with an Ireland N-2C Neptune amphibian. Joined by mechanic Harry Wendt in 1935, they established the "pilot-mechanic" tradition: flying into the interior and fixing their own aircraft in the field.

1993
The Genesis
Facing a "brain drain" of engineers, Capt. Malcolm Chan-A-Sue and Lt. Col. Charles Hutson conceptualized an indigenous training solution. AWHWAES was born as an NGO, embedded within the industry at CAMS hangar to ensure practical relevance from day one.
